Our area has been dubbed the "Golf Capital of the World" by the National Golf Foundation. The valley is home to three recent Top 100 golf courses in America, as rated by Golf Magazine. Those include the Desert Forest , Estancia Club, and Troon North. In 2006, Phoenix ranked as the fifth most expensive golf destination nationwide, with an average daily greens fee of $91.00.

Flash forward to 2011, greens fees have gone down, and World Golf has the Phoenix/Scottsdale area as one of only eight golf destinations on the "Dream Itinerary"  They stated "Scottsdale/Phoenix might be the most functional golf destination in the world. For years, a number of PGA Tour players have called Scottsdale home, lending legitimacy to its claim as the top golf destination in the world.".
