Interesting Information

Peoria got its start in the 1880's when citizens from Peoria, Illinois purchased 5,000 acres of land. Schools and a Post Office were established by 1889, but the city was not Incorporated until 1954, with a land area of 1 square mile. By 1970 the population was 2,500. Explosive population growth over the past 30 years has transitioned this once small agricultural area into a large city with a population of over 130,000. Peoria is expected to continue growing with an estimated 2025 population of 232,200, with much of that growth occurring in Planned Developments primarily in the northern sections of the city.  That growth has slowed in the 2008 - 2011 economic recession however.

The following are examples of some of the Master Planned Communities under development:

  • Camino a Lago, 1351 Acres, 3,855 Homes
  • Lake Pleasant Heights, 3,264 Acres, 6,122 Homes
  • Tierra del Rio, 1,041 Acres, 2,102 Homes
  • Saddleback Heights, 4,156 Acres, 6,195 Homes
  • Sonoran Mountain Ranch, 710 Acres, 1,939 Homes
  • Vistancia North - White Peak Ranch, 3,985 Acres, 8,190 Homes
  • Rock Springs, 320 Acres, 773 Homes.

Peoria is home to Lake Pleasant, a 10,000 acre lake about 30 minutes north of downtown Phoenix. The lake is Arizona's second largest, and has a full service marina, 4 public boat launch ramps, camping, fishing, hiking, and a Visitors Center.

The pictures and renderings in this website are examples of local style and architecture only in order to give prospective buyers an idea of what our area looks and feels like. Most of the pictures or write ups do not constitute an offer to sell the particular properties, nor does their inclusion on this site infer that I have a legal agreement to sell or market those properties. My "listed" properties are on the local MLS and on REALTOR.com.
