Paradise Valley is the "90210" of the Greater Phoenix area. It is the "Premier" address for
luxury custom homes, although Scottsdale and the Biltmore areas of Phoenix are up there as well.
Paradise Valley was named in the 1880's by the Rio Verde Canal Company when they turned
this open grazing land into irrigated farmland. The 3 surveyors "were so taken by the beauty
and tranquility of the desert landscape" that they named it Paradise Valley.
In the late 1950's residents concerned about being annexed into Phoenix
or Scottsdale collected enough signatures to Incorporate as the Town of Paradise Valley
in 1961. They wanted to keep zoning to one house per acre minimum, and keep the entire
town residential.
After a vote in 2008 by the citizens to approve it, (and it is already approved by the town of Paradise Valley), The
Residences at The Ritz-Carlton - The Residences will be the first of its kind in the world, The Ritz-Carlton, Paradise Valley is a 110-acre enclave that will include a Ritz-Carlton hotel with a surrounding residential development comprised of villas, estate homes and estate home sites. Homeowners will enjoy an exquisite array of services and sophisticated comforts perfected by The Ritz-Carlton staff.
