An alert went out today from the U.S. Government for sellers to watch out for buyers using fake "U.S. Treasury" documents that are now being used to purchase both real estate and autos. These "fake" documents are known on the street as a Personal Promissory Notes and Private Offset Bonds, and both have the name of Henry Paulsen on the face of both documents.
The only hard copy document that the U.S. Treasury sells today that people would have in their possession are U.S. Savings Bonds. The treasury department did not issue the Promissory Notes of Offset Bonds, so if you as a Buyer or Seller runs into one of these documents, please take them for what they are really worth...ZERO, and get yourself out of the deal fast..
